150 g walnuts

120 g sugar

100 g softened butter

40 g plain flour

1 tbsp rum

3 eggs

1 sachet baking powder (11 g)

1 pinch salt

RECIPE STEPS

Preheat your oven to 170 °C (gas mark 3).

Cut the butter into small cubes. Chop the walnuts in the food processing bowl fitted with the metal blade for 30 seconds. Add the sugar, flour, eggs, salt, rum and butter. Blend for 2 minutes.
  • 150 g walnuts
  • 120 g sugar
  • 100 g softened butter
  • 40 g plain flour
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt

While the machine is still running, add the baking powder via the feed tube. Blend for a further 10 seconds.
  • 1 sachet baking powder (11 g)

Pour the mixture into a buttered tin.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. To check that the cake is cooked, insert the tip of a knife or a skewer. It should come out dry and clean.

Allow to cool in the oven with the door ajar.

hullo. I was about to start this cake but was quite surprised by the small amount of flour listed in the recipe. Is 40 grams of flour correct?
