350 g of self-raising flour
1 sachet of baking powder
1 pinch of salt
70 g of raisons
60 g of soft butter
210 ml of whole milk
30 g of caster sugar
1 beaten egg

Heat the oven to 200°C.

Dice the butter.

Put the ingredients into the metal bowl and run the program.
- 350 g of self-raising flour
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 60 g of soft butter
- 30 g of caster sugar

If necessary, scrape down the wall of the bowl and rerun the program.
With the program running, gradually pour the milk through the opening. Add the raisons in the last 20 seconds of the program.

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured board and gently press out the dough until it is 2cm thick.

Using a round cookie cutter (about 5cm in diameter and dusted lightly in flour) punch circles out of the dough and place onto a tray lined with greaseproof paper.

Carefully glaze the tops with beaten egg and place in the oven for 12-15 minutes depending on the size of your scones.

Serve the warm scones with jam and clotted cream.

had motor overload again but still had to add flour to mixture as too sticky and wet so finished by hand
My first recipe using the Cook Expert. I've made countless scones using many recipes but found these to be soft, fluffy, flavoursome and delicious.
